    Rashied Ali’s Survival Records label re-launches in 2019, including this release and an expanded version of the iconic Duo Exchange with Frank Lowe. These and future Survival releases have been optimized through the engineering skills of Grammy-nominated veteran mastering engineer Joe Lizzi, the musical acuity of drummer George Schuller, and historical input from researcher Ben Young—overseen by Ali’s widow, Patricia. This team has exhaustively catalogued Ali’s voluminous recording library, and will bring forward further treasures in coming years.
